This is an Arts Starts Artist In Residence project.

During COVID-19 lockdown, a student breaks into Killarney Secondary to grab his homework. Before he can clear out, a white rabbit with a giant pocket watch appears and tell him he is in a play. Before he knows it, the rabbit is off, and he has transformed into a female classmate starring as Alice.  What follows is a comedic romp through the halls of Killarney as "Alice" runs the caucus race, has soup with the Duchess and dances with the Mock Turtle. Soon the actors are on strike and the teen has to decide whether to stay in Wonderland or go back to the real world. Curiouser is socially distance theatrical experience not to be missed.

When you fall down a rabbit hole, you must pick yourself up and make the best of it! This year our Mainstage family has done just that! We would like to acknowledge and give thanks that our learning and creating took place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded Indigenous territories of the ʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations. Our students have shown resiliency, compassion, and dedication, now they are excited to invite you to our 2021 production of "Curiouser". Written and Directed by Artist in Residence, Seamus Fera, in collaboration with Killarney students and associate director Johnathan Pretty.

A big congratulations to our assistant directors, stage managers and cast for your passion and creativity.  To our adult mentors, student leaders, production managers and our full company you all rocked it this year! Thanks for re-imagining everything with us and always remaining focused on staying professional, we are so proud of you. To our audience, parent support/KAFT, thanks for allowing us to continue to spread and cultivate a passion for the arts. Finally, thank you for allowing your child to be part of our Mainstage Production, we know they will always cherish the friendships, learning and memories for the years to come.

Now don't be late for a very important date and purchase a ticket!
