Tess Anderson//

Vancouver-based singer-songwriter Tess Anderson enchants audiences with her candid performances. Open and unapologetic, she invites listeners into her most vulnerable moments through honest and authentic storytelling. Whether alone on stage with nothing but a keyboard and a guitar, or backed by a full band, she’s been known to silence crowds with her captivating musical presence. Pulling inspiration everywhere from old-school jazz standards to modern pop, her sound is heavily driven by her unmistakable voice.

Growing up in Victoria, BC, Tess’s debut into the music industry began at the rookie age of 12. Training as a vocalist and pianist, she began songwriting as a form of self-expression, finding numerous performance opportunities at a young age. By 15 she had recorded and released a self-produced 7-song album (under a different alias), quickly followed by her first sold-out show and national radio play on CBC. Moving to Vancouver in 2016 to pursue her career further, she received a diploma in songwriting, audio engineering, and music production. Tess went on to sign her first record deal with indie label BCR in 2019, become a finalist in the 2020 Canadian Songwriter Challenge, receive a 2021 Amplify BC Grant for her upcoming release, and build an impressive catalogue of original material.

With 42 live shows in 2019 and four single releases to date, Tess continues to build a name for herself in the Vancouver music scene. With a recent focus on collaboration, her latest endeavours include working with a range of local and international songwriters and producers, while spending time in the recording studio gearing up for an independent EP release coming summer 2021. With over ten years of songwriting and performance experience, her momentum and drive are only amplifying.

Chris Clute & Victoria Groff//

Vancouver-based artist Chris Clute is a fixture in his local music scene. Having a love of music from a young age, piano lessons paved the way to him jamming, making his own songs and figuring out how to play songs he was listening to. His songwriting reflects a variety of perspectives, with his early introspective and self-reflective writing leading to his learning to write from others’ points of view as he began to write and create music with others. Performing in rock bands and collaborating with other musicians over the years has taught him what kind of artist he wants to be. Aside from playing in his own band, he also works on music with producers Sal and Pete of Sound of Kalima and often collaborates with his sister, musician Andrea Clute and his partner Victoria Groff. A passionate advocate for bringing attention to Canada’s (especially Vancouver’s) opioid epidemic, homelessness and the mental health struggles that many face, he recently released “Vince’s Song”. The song was written for his friend Vince who, consumed by addiction, disappeared into the streets of Vancouver’s dangerous downtown Eastside. He has also created a campaign around the song, selling shirts and donating the profits to Street Saviors Society Outreach organization in Vancouver.
